FAQ
FAQ & Tips
1. For example, why the solar panel can not produce 40W power when charging to SWOT power station?
As you know , the solar panels are affected by many factors: such as the light intensity and the panels angle put on the ground. 40w is tested in an ideal laboratory. However, the intensity of the light constantly changes.
In addition, the angel of the light illuminating the solar panel also in changing.
2. How Does Solar work?
1) Solar power plant. Nuclear fusion in the suns core produces energy, which is released in the form of light. It takes eight and a half minutes for the suns rays to reach earth.
2) Electron playgrounds. Solar panels contain two layers of carefully grown silicon slices with a uniform pathway in between. The negatively charged high energy electrons at the top are eager to jump to the positively charged electrons at the bottom; All they need is a nudge in the right direction.
3) Sun sponges. Thinking of it like solar billiard. The visible and invisible light from the sun strikes the surface electrons like a mother ball and gives them the necessary thrust to break free from their bondage and rush to the bottom, generating an electric current in the process of their movement.
4) Herding the electron flow. The path created in the solar panel uses moving electrons, like a water slide, and forces energy to where you want it.
3. What is the recommended operating temperature range for SWOT solar panels?
The recommended temperature range depends on the specific lamination used on the panel. For nearly all SWOT products this is between -40℃and 85℃. However, many of the Electronic Component panels use a less robust lamination stack, rated for -40 to 65℃. We can offer custom laminates to support your application if you need something more robust. 4. What is the life expectancy for SWOT solar panels?
R The encapsulation of the SWOT module will determine the life expectancy of the encapsulated module.
R Photovoltaic Semiconductor Device - No particular life expectancy limitation in a protected environment.
R Polyester Encapsulation - Limited to protected use (e.g., consumer electronics) or limited-time outdoor use.
R ETFE Encapsulation - Best protection for permanent outdoor use.
R For more information, contact the SWOT team.
5. How do I get the best performance out of my solar panel?
Place the solar panel perpendicular to the sun for best performance.
6. What is the minimum amount of light at which my panel will operate?
10,000 lux (equivalent to a cloudy day).
7. How do I clean my Foldable Solar Panel?
Use a damp cloth with a mild soap solution and allow to dry thoroughly. DO NOT submerge or leave in a wet environment.
8. How should I store my Foldable Solar Panel?
Foldable Solar Panels are very resilient but to ensure a long lifetime store in a cool dry environment.
Tips for Use:
▸The output power will be affected by factors like weather conditions or the angle to the sun, please make sure that there is
sufficient sunlight when you use the solar panel.
▸Please check whether the output voltage of the solar panel (15V) is in the range of the input voltage of your power station.
▸Please do not press the solar panel with heavy objects, or it will damage the chip inside
